The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) convened Innovation China Conference 2023 in China’s capital city Beijing and online on February 20, 2023.

At the conference, leaders of the pilot cities/innovation parks, academicians and experts of the S&T service teams, heads of central enterprises, and grassroots sci-tech professionals shared their experiences of participating in the program from different perspectives.

The conference distributed work tasks in 2023 to responsible organs and put an emphasis on the implementation of a three-year action plan to boost the program.

Recipients of the 25th CAST Qiushi outstanding young talent achievement transformation award and 2022 sci-tech service teams with excellent performance were awarded at the conference.

The annual list of 2022 Innovation China top series was released at the conference and a sub program of Innovation China financial partnership was inaugurated.

We must introduce high-level talents to the frontline of industries to foster a new development pattern integrating science, tech and economy. And we must initiate dialogue with world peers to expand new space for openness and coordination, to establish innovation ecosystem with world competitiveness and benefit humanity, noted Wan Gang in his address at the conference. Wang is vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and president of CAST.

The conference was livestreamed online and received a total of 5.226 million views on the convening day.
