Recent years, the China Science and Technology Museum (CSTM) affiliated to the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) developed a cell phone app named Science and Technology Museum on Palm to establish an integrated platform for nationwide science popularization venues to upload their resource packages and provide 7X24 hour science popularization services for the online and on-spot visitors. 

The app embodied the latest technologies of AI, VR and AR, attracting 188 science popularization venues at provincial, municipal and prefectural levels to take part as of April 12, 2023, among which 108 were the new ones getting settled in 2023.

The app can provide audio guide, virtual instructor and route recommendation services, demonstrating the CSTM’s efforts to make quality science popularization resources more accessible to the public.

The CSTM is expected to attract more science popularization venues to take part and make the app a platform for the public, especially the young ones to have access to abundant science education resources, accelerating the digital construction of China’s modern science and technology museum system, and enhancing the nation’s science popularization service capacity.

This is taken as endeavor of the CSTM to participate in intelligent CAST program.
